The Black Stool - Der Schwarze Sessel

These are two takes of the same motive, taken immediately after one another and both are interesting ina different way.

One is overflowing with light which is penetrating into the room through the window to the left. The air itself whirs with sunlight, making the stool throw only a diffuse shadow.

The second one has a strong incident of light at the window sill, which extends to the center of the room, constituating a sharp counterpoint to the dark shades of gray of and around the black chair, as it playfully flows through between its legs.
