The Black Stool II - Der Schwarze Sessel II

This is the same motive as before, in a very intricate arrangement. The stool is the center of composition, and is closely surrounded by various contrastful, complex shapes, objects and textures.

Its backrest stands against a bright, wrinkled shirt, which is itself framed by other, darker garments. The most textured portion of this center is the backrest as well as the supporting shirt, on which the texture is an echoing continuation of the arrangement of rods in the backrest.

The center of attention however is a set of bright shards of light, which, almost like swords, cut into the dim flesh of the stool's wood texture. They are surrounded by a weak, shining nimbus of light, and have a recurrence in the off of the picture, the window sill, amidst the dark regions of the room wall.
