The Rack - Der Hänger

This series of pictures shows an old, bent and broken clothes rack supporting a single garment carelessly hung there. It stands in a room, but our point of view is strangely elevated; the floor is scattered with all kinds of belongings. Through that, it finds justification to even stand there in the middle of the room.

As the series progresses, the viewer wanders around the rack, and the sole purpose of that is to investigate the odd position the rack stands in there. It bends towards and away from the viewer, almost like a living, breathing being that is carefully observed and tries to adapt to the weird situation it finds itself in.
